apologia
I’ve been writing poetry since I was seven; I’m now 46. This collection includes most of my older poems that I can still stand to look at. I like to think I have a pretty realistic sense of my limitations as a poet, but I’ve worked long and hard at this craft, and if some of the results make people happy, that’s almost good enough. (I’m awfully glad, though, that most of the poets I admire have higher standards!)
